Acer Iconia Tab A110

It comes with an HDMI output and an expandable storage. A closer look at the specifications and features of this tablet has been taken.

Acer Iconia Tab A110 Design

There is not much to talk about the design of Acer Iconia Tab A110 tablet. It is a simple box shaped tablet and its overall construction could have been a little better. It is made up of plastic and this makes it look like a not so expensive or a high-end tablet.

This tablet could have looked better had it come with a matt finish instead of the glossy one it sports. It comes with a plain rich grey finish and looks bulky.

Software

This despite being a mid range tablet comes with one of the latest Operating Systems (OS) that is sure to catch your attention. This device runs on 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Thanks to this powerful Android software that there is a smooth transition between screens. The zoom-in and zoom-out did function as expected and the in-screen scrolling also lived up to our expectations.

If you love playing games on your tablet, you can take advantage of games like Ice Age Village and Real Football 2012 that come loaded with this device. This device also comes pre-loaded with a handful of useful apps like Polaris Office. All in all the software that this tablet runs on is impressive as you can fire and run apps, browse the web minus any hiccups.

Hardware

Processor that Acer Iconia Tab A110 tablet runs on is quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 T30L CPU running at 1.2GHz and it is powered by 1GB RAM. Storage strength is rather average as this device comes with an 8GB storage capacity. However, with the microSDHC slot you can get additional storage capacity of up to 32GB. This despite being a budget tablet it comes with expandable storage and a HDMI output.

Battery

Battery life of this gadget is decent. It lasted for about 7 hours and 33 minutes when a video was repeatedly played.

Screen and Display

If only the screen would have been a shade better than what it is, Acer Iconia Tab A110 would have become one of the best devices to play games on and watch movies on. To begin with, the brightness of the screen is poorly not up to the mark. Its maximum brightness, when measured using a colorimeter, was recorded as 208cd/m2.

This makes images look distorted on the tab. What adds on to the worry are the not so good viewing angles of the screen. A slight shift in colors was noticed when the screen was viewed in different angles.

Final word

This tablet is 11.5mm thick and weighs around 13.54 oz. This makes it a perfect device to be carried around. Overall, for the features that you get for the price you pay this tablet is not a bad deal at all.
