Nokia 8 Flagship Android Phone: Rumours, Specs and Price in India

Nokia has finally started manufacturing its smartphones again, but they are now using the Android Operating system instead of Windows. The all new Nokia phones will use the latest Android version. Everybody has great expectations from Nokia powered by Android devices. Today we will read about one such device, Nokia 8 which is also powered by Android.


Design and display

The Nokia 8 has not been officially announced yet, but it as per the leaked specifications, it comes with a 5.7-inch display with the dimensions of 153 (H) x 74 (W) x 7.9 (T) mm. It is not thin as Apple iPhone 7. Nokia 8 weighs 156 grams and comes only in black color.

Nokia 8 comes with a Full High Definition display and has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It has a great pixel density of 515 PPI. Nokia 8 will feature an IPS LCD display and will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass v5 screen protection which is the latest one in the market. Nokia 8 has a screen to body ratio of 78.93 %.

About the physical appearance, there is no branding on the front side. The front has a 5.7 inch FHD display and the area above the display has a 12MP front camera. The area below the display has a physical home button which acts as a fingerprint sensor as well. The home button is flanked by capacitive keys on either side with back key on the left side. The power button and volume button lie on the right side with power button below the power button.

The back cover and the battery of the device is non-removable. Nokia 8 comes with a 3000 mAH battery.  Nokia 8 has 24 MP primary camera at the back. It also has a Dual-LED CCT Flash.


Nokia 8 will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 MSM8998 chipset, which will run using the following configuration Octa core 2.45 GHz, Quad core, Kryo + 1.9 GHz, Quad core, Kryo processor. Nokia 8 will use Adreno 540 GPU. Like all the flagship devices, Nokia 8 will also have 6 GB RAM.


Like all Nokia phones, Nokia 8 comes with amazing and powerful cameras on the both sides. The Nokia 8 has 24MP primary camera at the back, which has an aperture of 2.0f. Nokia 8 supports Optical Image Stabilization and phase detection autofocus. Nokia 8 has a unique feature of Dual-LED CCT Flash. Other than that, it has the usual features like Auto Flash, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, Touch to focus. Nokia 8 allows video recording at 3840×2160 @ 30 fps, 1920×1080 @ 60 fps.

The front camera of Nokia 8 is a 8 MP camera.


Nokia 8 will run on Android Nougt (7.0) out of the box.


Nokia 8 has an internal memory of 64 GB which an be expanded up to 256 GB via an external card. However, we are not sure if the slot is a dedicated card slot or will use a hybrid SIM slot.


As per the leaked specifications, the battery is not that good as compared to other devices. Nokia 8 will have a 3000 mAH battery which is non-removable. Again, we are not sure if it will support fast charging or not and whether it will use USB type C port or normal micro USB.


Nokia 8 is a dual SIM device which supports 4G in only one slot. It also is VOLTE enabled. The second slot only supports 4G. Nokia 8 has the latest Wifi configuration of Wi-Fi 802.11, a/ac/b/g/n 5GHz, Dual antennas, MIMO, WEP. Nokia 8 will use the latest Bluetooth version 5.

Nokia 8 will have a 3.5 mm jack and will use Dolby Atmos sound enhancement. As already mentioned, the presence of dedicated or hybrid slot is not known yet. Nokia 8 also has usual sensors like Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass and Gyroscope.


The price of Nokia 8 is not known yet but according to the listing, the new Nokia 8 is expected to come at a price tag of Rs 31,000 approximately.
