Earlier, Micromax launched Unite 2, which directly competes with the latest successful launch, Motorola Moto E. Now, both Micromax Canvas Engage A091 and Micromax Unite 2 offer a rivalry to the Moto E.

There is confusion amongst the smartphone buyers for deciding between the Micromax Canvas Engage A091 and the Motorola Moto E. There is a question, whether one should invest a few hundreds more and go for Moto E, or they should stay with the Canvas Engage.

Here, we bring you a step-by-test comparison review between Micromax Canvas Engage A091 and Motorola Moto E.

Micromax Canvas Engage A091 vs. Motorola Moto E

Whereas, the Moto E packs a 4.3-inch Capacitive Multi-touch Screen display, which produces 16M colours at a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels at a rate of 256 ppi.

The Moto E packs a slight bigger display, which produces bright and crisp colours at better pixel density rate. However, Canvas Engage produces 16.7M colours, and the Moto E produces only 16M colours.

Processor & RAM

Micromax Canvas Engage is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad Core Broadcom 23550 Processor, coupled with 512MB of RAM. Whereas the Moto E is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Dual Core Processor clocked at 1.2GHz. This processor is supported by 1GB of RAM and Adreno 302 GPU.

The processor’s performance on both these smartphones is almost same. However, the Moto E packs a better 1GB of RAM.

Operating System

Both these smartphones run on Google’s latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box. The Moto E would be getting an OS update in the future. However, the same on Canvas engage is least expected.

Camera

Both Micromax Canvas Engage and Moto E house a 5 Megapixels Autofocus rear camera. But the Canvas Engage packs an LED flash at the back and a VGA secondary camera on its front, which is not present on the Moto E. Hence, the Micromax Canvas Engage steps ahead in this segment.

For connectivity, the Micromax Canvas Engage and Moto E offer almost similar features including 3G, GPRS with EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0, WI-Fi, WI-Fi Hotspot, GPS with A-GPS support, MicroUSB 2.0, USB 2.0 and 3.5mm Audio Jack.

Battery

The Micromax Canvas Engage is fuelled by a 1500mAH battery, which promises up to 200 hours of stand-by time and up to 5 hours of talk time. While the Moto E, is fuelled by a stronger 1980mAH battery.

Verdict – Micromax Canvas Engage A091 vs Moto E

The Micromax Canvas Engage A091 is available for Rs. 5, 690, while the Moto E is available for Rs. 6, 999. The difference in the price tag is responsible for a better display, processor make, RAM and a stronger battery on the Moto E. Also, the build and finish quality on the Moto E is far better than that of Micromax Canvas Engage.

The Micromax Canvas Engage packs an LED flash and a secondary camera, which is not present on the Moto E. The USP of the Canvas Engage is that it is running Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and it is available at a very affordable and pocket friendly price tag.

Hence, if you are looking for an Android KitKat running smartphone at a low budget, the Micromax Canvas Engage is made for you. And if you can invest around Rs. 1, 500 more, then the Moto E is the best choice for you. Buying either Micromax Canvas Engage or Moto E, would be a worth buy deal.
