Here is the comparison between Samsung Galaxy S4 vs Apple iPhone 5. Since the launch of Apple iPhone in 2007, it has been considered as a standard benchmark of what a Smartphone should be. And every other Smartphone released by other manufacturers is touted as an iPhone killer. The latest challenge to iPhone is being posed by Samsung Galaxy S4 which was launched after months of rumorsat a huge press event at Radio City Music Hall in New York on 14th March.

The event was presented in a broad-way style drama showcasing features of Galaxy S4 in real-life. JK Shin, the executive in charge of Samsung’s mobile communications division stated that Galaxy S4 is a “life companion” that will “improve the way most people live every day.

But the question remains the same- Is it the iPhone killer we all were looking for? Is it good enough to lure Apple fanboys and girls over to Android?

Samsung Galaxy S4 vs Apple iPhone 5 Comparison

When you look at the phones next to each other, one thing’s for certain: the Galaxy S4 is a lot bigger. With a huge 5-inch screen, Galaxy S4 is 56% larger than the iPhone 5’s 4-inch screen. The Galaxy S4’s display is a Super AMOLED panel with 1,920-by-1080 pixels resolution, which is rich and bright. At 441 pixels per inch, it’s also denser than the iPhone 5’s Retina display, which has 326 pixels per inch.

Other specs are more difficult to compare. Galaxy S4 is using new Snapdragon 600 processor. It is yet to be seen how it stacks up against Apple’s A6 in the iPhone 5.  The Galaxy S4’s 13 MP camera has lots of crazy features, like the ability to record from both the front and rear cameras at the same time.

But recent experience with phones like the LG Optimus G has shown us that more megapixels don’t necessarily equal better images. The iPhone 5 remains one of the most favorite camera phones with 8MP camera, so it’ll be interesting to see how the GS4 compares.

There’s still no price or release date for the Samsung Galaxy S4, while iPhone 5 is already available at $200 with US carriers and at $649 for unlocked version with 16GB internal memory.

Verdict

As one can clearly see from the specs of both devices, Samsung has done a lot of efforts to make Galaxy S4 better in every terms especially hardware. But, Apple’s strength lies in the closed integration of both hardware and software in iPhone, how it becomes a wonderful experience when executing any task in an iPhone.

Galaxy S4 comes with some great software features, but it remains to be seen whether they will be useful practically. Also, Play store still lags behind iOS store in number of Apps and some apps are still exclusive to iOS. As of now, both phones come as a good choice, which would depend on one’s personal preference about them. So in Samsung Galaxy S4 vs Apple iPhone 5 comparison, which do you think is the best smartphone.
