Too Dull

You might think that your writing is the most important part of the blog, but that’s not really true. You need a good design to grab people in, and then they will stick around to see what you have written. Thus, make sure you use a professional design that is slick and enticing. Then, back that design up with solid writing.

Too Cluttered

Your readers will get overwhelmed if there is too much clutter on your blog. Go through different Premium WordPress templates and find one that has a clean layout. Your readers will appreciate this quite a bit.

Too Many Ads

While your theme can help you keep things neat and clean, you can ruin it by adding a bunch of advertisements to your blog. If you want to run ads, keep them to a bare minimum. Too many ads will annoy your readers. On top of that, search engines will drop your ranking if you have too many ads.

Lack of Branding

Your blog should include branding, whether you are an individual or a business. Branding makes a blog look more professional, and it will help you gain trust with your readers. Thus, include a logo and a slogan if you’re a business. If you’re an individual, put up a picture of yourself. This will give you and your blog an identity. That means it will be easier for your readers to connect with you.

Bad Navigation

Some blogs have really bad navigation. It might take several clicks for a reader to get to his destination, or he might not even be able to figure out how to change pages. If your blog isn’t easy to navigate, you won’t get return readers. With that in mind, make sure you choose a WordPress theme that is professionally coded so it will be easy to navigate.

These mistakes can do a great deal of harm to your blog. Thus, you need to go through your blog and fix any mistakes that you are making. Then, you will be able to gain a loyal following.
