Few days ago, Samsung rolled out Jelly bean updates for Samsung Galaxy S3 and now HTC has launched the Google Android 4.1  Jelly Bean upgrade for HTC One X Smartphone in India. The Jelly Bean update has been launched by the company in Asia, and India is amongst the first countries to get the update. This Jelly Bean update has been a much awaited one, as the changed operating system would change the functioning of the device drastically.

Besides the change in the operating system the One X device has also got other enhancements which the company has deemed to be necessary. The update comes in two parts; the first part is a smaller update which makes the phone ready for Jelly Bean, while the other one introduces the good features of Jelly Bean.

Software improvements like power saving mode can be seen in the device after the update. The Taiwanese giant has also confirmed that there will be a boost in performance as can be found in later devices like HTC Sense 4+.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the smartest version of android so far. It is the fastest one and runs as smoothly. It is an enhancement on the simpler version of android 4.0 ICS. What more, it also introduces a new kind of search experience on android, Google Now, a virtual personal assistant that is in some ways comparable with Apple’s Siri.

Android Jelly Bean is faster, fluid and smooth, which makes switching between home screen and apps very effortless. The Jelly Bean 4.1 update that has been rolled out for HTC One X in India has also made the orientation faster. Responses while switching between recent apps has also become faster.

The device has been given a more consistent rendering due to the use of vsync and triple buffering. The touch responses have also been enhanced due to the introduction of Jelly Bean 4.1. This happens due to the increase in the efficiency of the CPU. What this does is to save the battery life of your phone when you are not using it.

Several other features have also been introduced with this Jelly Bean 4.1 update for HTC One X. Accessibility has been improved and a new accessibility focus feature allows you to move the cursor between controls. Moreover you can double tap the screen anywhere to launch the present item with accessibility focus. There is a feature called Android Beam through which you can share photos and videos easily. Through a simple tapping you can connect your device with your Bluetooth headset or speaker.

The browser has also improved along with this new Jelly Bean 4.1 update. The device has now got a browser that supports HTML5 canvases and videos. Vertical test glyphs like Ruby text are also supported by the new browser. Another feature which has drastically improved is the calendar. Gliding through the calendar has become a pleasurable experience indeed with the introduction of the new version.The camera has also got added features. You do not have to leave the camera app if you want to review the recent snaps you have taken.

How to Download Jelly Bean updates for HTC One X

The update will be available over the air (OTA), means you won’t need to plug your HTC One X into your computer to download and install Jelly Bean but the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update size is ~360MB and make sure you connect your phone with a Wi-Fi connection before installing the update to your HTC phones or data charges will apply if you download using GPRS or 3G service.
