Before the champions trophy the three cricket giants India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand will play the tri-series. India and New Zealand will travel all the way to Sri Lanka for the tri-series starting from the september 2009.The teams will play each other once, and the top two teams will meet in the final. Thus, a total of four matches will be played.
