Google Maps adds 12 More Indian Cities for Real-Time Traffic Updates

Traffic jams have become a major issue in cities these days. Now-a-day where time is one of the most crucial aspects, traffic jams had made it really impossible for an individual to reach on time anywhere. If you are working in an organization you could easily relate to the importance of reaching on time to your workplace. However, if you could easily foresee a traffic jam on a road which is miles ahead can save you a lot of time and frustration.

Keeping this thing in mind, Google has recently added 12 more cities to Google Maps services for providing real- time traffic updates to the users. This latest update by Google makes it even more useful than before.

Now, you can easily choose which route to follow depending upon the traffic conditions of a specific route. This will enable the users to reach their destination on time.

Google Maps is a mobile and desktop web mapping service which was developed by Google. It offers satellite imagery, real- time traffic updates, 3600 panoramic views of streets, street maps and root planning for traveling by car, public transport, bicycle or even on foot.

With the addition of 12 more cities in Google Maps, the total number of cities featured in the Maps comes up to 34 cities. Google is one such platform that has always been hyperactive regarding adding as much information as possible to its services in order to offers quality information to its users.

Considering this, Google planned to add several more cities for providing real time traffic updates to people and is certainly planning to add more cities in the near future.

The users are required to simply turn on the traffic layer in Google Maps after which they will be able to see the routes mapped out in various colors representing different speed of traffic on that particular route. Green color indicates that there is no traffic jam on the roads, orange reflects medium traffic on roads while red color reflects heavy traffic jams on the roads. Similar story rests with Navigation while you use it.

In addition, Google also added voice- guided Navigation instructions in Google Maps for mobile users in both Hindi as well as Indian accented English language earlier this year. You can even make use of the Indian Railways schedule information integrated in the Google Maps.

With the introduction of 12 more cities in Google Maps, the users can also access traffic information regarding all national highways and expressways in India. The users can take benefit of different versions of Google Maps for both PC as well as mobile.

The users can now make use of Google Maps for viewing traffic conditions in several other cities like Indore, Surat, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Madurai and Nagpur.

Earlier, Google added Indian Railways schedules for around 12,000 trains within the Google Transit, in addition to metro and bus updates for Bengaluru, New Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.
