If you are using more than one web browser, then windows needs to know which browser to use by default. If Internet Explorer is your default web browser now and you want to change it to the Firefox then follow the simple steps below.
Make Firefox as the default web browser :
- At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options.
- Select the Advanced panel, then click the General tab, and then click Check Now.
- Select Yes to set Firefox as your default browser.

Note: MSN Messenger and other applications may open Internet Explorer regardless of which browser is the default. Also, Internet service providers like PeoplePC Online, Juno and NetZero may provide connection software that automatically launches Internet Explorer.
