When we are almost one month away from stepping n 2014, two Android Smartphones named as “Motorola Moto G” and “Google Nexus 5” have become one of the hottest topics on internet pages and blogs. People from all over the globe are very much interested in knowing more and more about these two devices.

The Moto G comes from the Google owned handset manufacturing company, Motorola who is expected to make a successful comeback in the marketplace. The Nexus 5 also comes from the house of Google and is manufactured in collaboration with LG. The Google fans have framed many expectations from both these.

Here, we bring you a comparison between Motorola Moto G vs Google Nexus 5.

Display:

Motorola Moto G sports an appreciable 4.5-inch HD ‘edge-to-edge’ display touch screen, which produces a resolution of 720×1280 pixels at a rate of 329 pixels per inch. For its safety, It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Whereas Google Nexus 5 sports a bigger and better 4.95-inch Full HD IPS touch screen display which produces a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at a brilliant rate of 445 pixels per inch. This Smartphone’s display is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Processor & RAM:

Beneath its attractive body design, Motorola Moto G has a 1.2GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 coupled with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. Going with the price tag of Moto G, this configuration can be regarded as the best in its segment.

Google Nexus 5 is powered by a 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor supported with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. This configuration is far better than of Motorola Moto G. But the differences in the price tag of the duo can be considered as the reason behind this.

Operating System:

Motorola Moto G ships running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Operating System. Nevertheless, this Smartphone will be getting Android 4.4 KitKat OS update in January 2014. Google Nexus 5 comes running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System out of the box.

Camera:

Motorola Moto G houses a 5 megapixels rear camera supported with an LED flash. This rear camera features Geo-tagging, Touch Focus, Face Detection and Panorama mode. You can record 720p HD videos at a rate of 30fps from the rear camera of this Smartphone. Moto G carries an 1.3 Megapixels secondary camera for your video calls.

Google Nexus 5 houses an 8 megapixels Auto focus rear camera featuring LED flash, Optical Stabilization, photo sphere, touch focus and face detection. The rear camera can record Full HD 1080p videos. It also carries a 1.3 megapixels secondary camera for video calls.

Memory:

Motorola Moto G will be available in two variants. One carries 8GB of internal memory, while the second one carries 16GB of it. Expanding the memory using MicroSD card is not possible on both the variants.

The Nexus 5 is available in two variants. One with 16GB of internal storage capacity whereas the other offering the double i.e, 32GB. Both these variants also miss an external MicroSD card slot for memory expansions.

Connectivity:

Motorola Moto G’s connectivity options include 3G, GPRS with EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, WI-Fi, WI-Fi Hotspot MicroUSB 2.0 and Audio Jack. It misses NFC as a cost cutting measure.

Connectivity features of Google Nexus 5 include 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, WI-Fi, WI-Fi Hotspot, NFC (Android Beam), GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, MicroUSB and 3.5mm Audio Jack.

Battery:

Motorola Moto G is fuelled by a 2070mAH battery. While, the Google Nexus 5 is fuelled with a stronger 2300mAH battery which claims 300 hours of standby time and up to 17 hours of talk time. The wireless charging feature is also available on this Smartphone.

Verdict: Motorola Moto G Vs Google Nexus 5

It can be easily stated that Google Nexus 5 is more powerful and better Smartphone than Motorola Moto G. But the differences in their respective price tags can be considered as a reason behind this. The Motorola Moto G is expected to be priced around Rs. 13,000 while the Google Nexus 5 is priced around Rs. 29,000.

Motorola Moto G is an affordable, stylish and powerful Smartphone. It is far better than many of its competitors available in its price segment. But if you want your Smartphone to perform more and those extra bucks are not an issue, Google Nexus 5 is a worth buy.
