One of the most discussed new smartphones that is soon to hit the market is the Samsung Galaxy S IV. The South Korean tech giant promises that this new device will be the next iPhone 5 killer. Expected to see release in the second quarter of 2013, the Galaxy S IV has a lot to offer users who are fans of the Android mobile platform.

Of course, it is necessary to explore the various features of this phone if you are in the market for a new device if you are looking to purchase a new one.

HD Screen

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to follow the pattern of the previous versions of the smartphone and include a gorgeous Super AMOLED touchscreen. While the last device sported a 4.8 inch screen, the new phone is expected to have a full five inch HD screen with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and an incredible 441 pixels per inch. The screen itself is protected by durable Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Ample Storage

Like many of the smartphones available on the market today, the Galaxy S IV takes a micro SIM card. There are choices of storage amount with this device, just like the iPhone 5 in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

However, unlike Apple’s flagship smartphone, the Samsung offering includes a microSD slot that supports microSD cards of up 64GB, which allows for a great deal of storage held on the device.

Operating System

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to run on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, but it may actually end up being upgradable to 5.0 Key Lime Pie by the time it is released. It will also be powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core Octa processor.

Of course, like all of Samsung’s smartphones, the Galaxy S IV will come equipped with the standard TouchWiz user interface, allowing the user to customize it to their liking.

It will be available on multiple carrier networks and will deliver speeds as great as 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL and HSPDA at 42.2 Mbps. 2GB of RAM in addition will allow the individual to surf the web, download and stream content to the phone at lightning speeds.

Camera

Smartphones are well known for their exceptional cameras, and the Samsung Galaxy S IV will certainly be no exception. The main rear-facing shooter will be 13 megapixels and include LED Flash and autofocus.

It will also double as a camcorder capable of capturing HD video at 1080 pixels and 30 frames per second. The front-facing camera is 2.1 megapixels and will be great for engaging in video chatting with your friends, family members and associates.

Other Features

The phone itself will be attractive in design and available in a variety of colors, including titanium grey and sapphire black. Because it is an Android smartphone, it will include many of the standard and expected Google apps, such as Google Voice, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube.
