Firefox has number of cool add-ons which make the job of web developers much easier.

1. Firebug

Firebug is my favorite add-on. I am using it quite often for making changes to Tricks Machine wordpress theme and I’m loving it. Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.

2. FireFTP

FireFTP is a free, secure, cross-platform FTP/SFTP client for Mozilla Firefox which provides easy and intuitive access to FTP/SFTP servers. It is the best addon for firefox, I’ve used many other desktop FTP clients and they are not as good as this one, and you have it right in your browser. I use Windows and Linux and this works perfectly in both.

3. Web Developer

The Web Developer add-on extends Mozilla Firefox by adding a toolbar with various options for working with web pages.

4. IE Tab V2

This is a great tool for web developers, since you can easily see how your web page displayed in IE with just one click and then switch back to Firefox. The Original, fully supported IE Tab . Embed IE in a Firefox tab. Be careful about the other IE Tab versions that include adware.

5. NoScript

The best security you can get in a web browser! Allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS and Clickjacking attacks.

6. Total Validator

Perform multiple validations and take screen shots in one go. This 4-in-1 validator works with external, internal, or local web pages using a local copy of the desktop tool

7. Console²

Console² (pronounced Console Squared or Console Two) replaces the JavaScript Console with what could be the next generation Error Console. From v0.5 includes the Console Filter extension previously available separately from the Console² website.

8. Font Finder

9. FirePHP

FirePHP enables you to log to your Firebug Console using a simple PHP method call.  FirePHP is ideally suited for AJAX development where clean JSON or XML responses are required. All data is sent via response headers. This means that the debugging data will not interfere with the content on your page.

10. Pentadactyl

Pentadactyl is a free browser add-on for Firefox, designed to make browsing more efficient and especially more keyboard accessible. Largely inspired by the Vim text editor, the appearance and finger feel of Pentadactyl should be familiar to Vim users.
